In 2025, collagen is easier than ever to consume, with launches spanning gels, gummies, drinks, and blends. But a “collagen” label alone is no longer enough. “Not all collagens are equal,” explained Oliver Wolf, Regional Marketing Manager at Gelita. “This is something we have to consider. “You have to be more specific and talk about collagen peptides. There are so many different peptides and the structure is different. From this we can target different areas of the body. And this is what we try to push forward.” Collasel’s Technical sales Manager Aldo Barsi agreed the market hadn’t yet peaked “Now it’s mostly for food supplements, but in the future it will be more indicative of total body benefit,” he said. “The GLP1 trend, especially collagen’s role is a big factor in that. So this is a new trend that will be important in the future.” Collagen’s role in GLP-1-related weight loss has led brands like Gelita and Collasel to create peptide blends to support muscle, skin, and metabolic health. These formulations increasingly complement GLP-1 therapies like semaglutide or tirzepatide. Marine or bovine? Collagen’s benefits often raise the question of sourcing.
