EFSA invites information on agrochemical exposure

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has announced an open call for data to update its guidance on the assessment of plant protection products exposure of operators, workers, residents and bystanders.
The current EFSA guidance on the assessment of plant protection products exposure for risk assessment was published in October 2014 and modified in January 2017. However, it has always acknowledged scenarios for which exposure estimates were unrealistic or overestimated, and recommended further research that would reduce existing uncertainties.

New scientific data/reports are now available, which merit consideration as they could help to fill these gaps. On the basis of these considerations, the EFSA plans to update the guidance, as well as the associated calculator. In order to gather all available relevant data for this activity, an open call for data is considered necessary at the beginning of the process.

The purpose of this open call for data is to offer interested parties and/or stakeholders the opportunity to submit documented information and data (published, unpublished or newly generated) relevant for an update of the EFSA Guidance on the assessment of exposure of operators, workers, residents and bystanders in risk assessment for plant protection products, and the associated calculator.

Interested parties and stakeholders should provide the information by 10th December 2018.
