Biesterfeld extends partnership with Solvay Special Chem for organic fluorinated intermediates

With immediate effect, Biesterfeld Spezialchemie receives a distribution right for the CF3 product portfolio of Belgian manufacturer Solvay Special Chem. The agreement applies to the drum business for Trifluoroethanol (TFE), Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), Trifluoroacetic anhydride (TFAH), Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (TA) and Trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride (TAA) in Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria.

Organic fluorinated intermediates are widely used as building blocks in the production of agrochemicals, pharmaceutical active ingredients, and others, including the introduction of the trifluoromethyl group.

“These CF3 building blocks are an ideal addition to our existing and extensive fine chemicals portfolio,” says Dr. Fritjof Weidner, Market Manager for Advanced Intermediates at Biesterfeld Spezialchemie. “In respect of the new products, existing and new customers will benefit from our service and our efficient European sales structure. The new CF3 products are of course available immediately from our central warehouse,” adds Elmar Braasch, Senior Sales Manager for Advanced Intermediates at Biesterfeld Spezialchemie.

“The new agreement has now allowed us to expand our many years of successful cooperation with Biesterfeld to part of our CF3 product portfolio. Thanks to Biesterfeld, we have at our side an experienced and established partner with the expertise to place our products on the market in the best possible way. We are pleased to be able to continue the success of TFE, TFA, TFAH, TA and TAA together,” says René Haak, Sales Manager at Solvay Special Chem.
