Corteva's OpenSky herbicide receives US registration

Corteva’s OpenSky herbicide (16.31% fluroxypyr + 1.28% pyroxsulam) has received registration from the US Environmental Protection Agency, providing wheat and durum growers with enhanced broadleaf weed and grass control in an easy-handling formulation.

A new herbicide for wheat that offers rotational flexibility and ease of use, OpenSky contains two active ingredients with two modes of action, reducing the likelihood of weed resistance.

“OpenSky will offer winter and spring wheat growers consistent control of high-anxiety grasses, such as wild oats, yellow foxtail and cheatgrass. Difficult broadleaf weeds, including kochia, mustards and wild buckwheat also are no match for the new herbicide,” says Joe Yenish, field scientist, Dow AgroSciences.

OpenSky combines exceptional weed control with excellent crop safety and unmatched rotational freedom. With OpenSky, wheat growers have the option to plant the high-value crops best tailored for their acres. This wide application window offers flexibility to adjust to unpredictable weather conditions. In addition, OpenSky is tank-mix compatible with fungicides, insecticides and several other broadleaf herbicides.
