Eurofins Agroscience Services, the leading global service provider for agrochemical testing, recently announced that it has completed the acquisition of Agrartest GmbH with headquarters in Aarbergen-Panrod, Germany.

Founded in 1989, Agrartest specializes in field trials for the crop protection, seed and fertilizer industries in Germany. Today, 39 employees work for the company at 10 field trial stations. Thanks to their extensive array of state-of-the-art equipment, the competent staff and the highly experienced management team around Mr. Scherf and Mr. Rohr, Agrartest has developed an excellent reputation in the national market.

Klaus Kuegler, Head of Eurofins Agroscience Services Group comments, “This acquisition sees the addition of huge in-house expertise and knowhow from the highly experienced Agrartest staff, advanced technology and equipment in operation at several Agrartest field sites and further development of our growing fertilizer and seed testing portfolio.”

Now, with a total of 20 test stations and around 120 employees, Eurofins Agroscience Services Group is the market leader for agricultural field trials in Germany.

Hans-Werner Scherf, Managing Director of Agratest GmbH says of the acquisition, “It is a matter of the heart to hand over Agrartest GmbH, which I founded almost 30 years ago, to another company. With Eurofins Agroscience Services Group we can now move forward together with the goal of becoming the number one CRO in Germany for both GEP field trials and seed testing.”
