Dr Samantha Atkinson has been appointed Director of Inspection, Enforcement and Standards at the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) following the retirement of Gerald Heddell. Dr Atkinson joined the MHRA as a GLP Inspector in 2006. She subsequently became Deputy Director and Group Manager of the British Pharmacopeia and Laboratory Services. She has been Gerald’s deputy for the past 3 to 4 years
