Corporate Responsibility

Notch Communications continues to support its local Manchester community as it announces its selected 2024 charity, The Proud Trust

Notch Communications, a strategic and creative B2B marketing agency focused on the science and technology sectors, announces The Proud Trust as its chosen charity for 2024, meaning that it will receive all funds raised by the agency throughout the year. This announcement underscores the company’s commitment to supporting the local community of its home city of Manchester.

The Proud Trust is an LGBTQ+ charity committed to empowering young people across Greater Manchester. The charity delivers youth work and one-to-one support, as well as a national training and inclusion programme for schools. The Proud Trust also runs the Proud Connections Live Chat and manages Manchester’s LGBTQ+ Centre, The Proud Place. The charity was selected by Notch’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee for its local advocacy and dedication to diversity.

The Proud Trust is the third Manchester-based charity that Notch has chosen to support; every year the business selects a new charity to reflect the diverse values of its team. In 2023, the Notch team raised £4123.14 for The Christie, Greater Manchester’s leading cancer hospital and the largest single-site cancer centre in Europe.

Throughout 2023 Notch’s CSR team organised a wide range of fundraising events for this local charity, including staff group participation in the Manchester Half Marathon and Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a Virtual Marathon (for hybrid and remote workers), and several bake sales and quizzes.

The CSR committee is run by Notch employees and enables the team to get involved in organising and participating in fundraising initiatives. Its activities are centred around three key pillars: making Notch green, supporting Notch’s home city of Manchester, and making science more accessible.

“At Notch, we understand the importance of corporate responsibility, and are delighted by our CSR committee’s considerable success in achieving its aims,” said Kate Whelan, CEO of Notch Communications. “Investing in people and fostering collaboration are central to what we do, and by supporting the communities around us we can maintain our social accountability, while also aligning with the UN’s sustainable development goals.”

Benjamin Nealon, Head of the CSR Committee added, “CSR helps our team bring their values to the workplace. It’s amazing to see the real-world benefits delivered by the team as we continue to build a more ethical and inclusive working culture at Notch.”
