Seed Global Health announces major gift from Takeda

Seed Global Health has been selected by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company as one of three global non-profit organizations to serve as partner for the company’s global CSR programme for 2018. Seed Global Health will receive approximately $4.5 million to support the education, mentorship and training of 5000 health professionals in sub-Saharan Africa over the next 5 years.

Seed Global Health was founded with the purpose of strengthening health systems by teaching and training a rising generation of doctors, nurses and midwives in sub-Saharan Africa. Takeda employees voted and selected Seed Global Health, Last Mile Health and UNICEF this year, for work to improve the health of people around the world.

“Seed Global Health is honoured and humbled to have been chosen for this award,” said Dr Vanessa Kerry, SEO and co-founder of Seed Global Health. “Partnerships are key to building a strong global health workforce necessary to improve health globally, and Takeda’s employees have shown a strong commitment to the education and training of local medical and nursing professionals to improve health.”
