Customer demand for natural and organic products is growing at a rapid rate, but so is the need for safe and effective preservatives. Dow Microbial Control, a business unit of DowDuPont Specialty Products, has launched two new product lines within its NEOLONE personal care preservatives portfolio: NEOLONE Bio, based on naturally derived Ethyl Lauroyl Arginate (LAE) and NEOLONE PH Phenoxyethanol blends. Both product lines reflect Dow’s dedication to helping formulators, manufacturers and brand owners overcome the challenges of the modern personal care industry.

NEOLONE Bio Preservatives
NEOLONE Bio products are based on the broad-spectrum, naturally derived personal care preservative Ethyl Lauroyl Arginate (LAE). LAE is non-sensitizing, non-irritating and readily bio-degradable, which makes it ideal for leave-on and rinse-off and some oral care applications

LAE is listed on Annex V of the European Commission Regulation and Annex VI of the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive.

Dow Microbial Control has signed an exclusive supply agreement for LAE with Barcelona based LAMIRSA who owns the intellectual property around manufacturing and use of LAE in personal care products.

NEOLONE Phenoxyethanol Preservatives
NEOLONE PHCG and NEOLONE PHBC are broad-spectrum preservatives specifically designed for rinse-off and leave-on applications, such as face masks, creams, lotions, shampoo and wipes. Together, these innovative blends boast high-performance features for mild personal care formulations, including:

• Optimized ratio of ingredients for cost efficiency
• Efficacy at a broad range of PH
• Low odour.
